Molti, come il vibe organico e naturale e gli occhi glossy, sono arrivati dalla stagione precedente e si sono rafforzati imponendosi sempre più come tendenza, mentre altri sono nuovi di pacca. Quando l’umidità prende il sopravvento

Sarà colpa del tempo (il termometro ha toccato i 32 gradi) o sarà l’ultimo capriccio sporty-chic dei makeup artists ma, preparatevi, la prossima primavera vedrà i visi risplendere di un luccichio insolito. Il sudore (si, avete capito bene) è stata l’ispirazione beauty da Alexander Wang, Oscar De La Renta, Peter Som, DKNY, Prabal Gurung e Creatures of the Wind che hanno tradotto l’umidità regnante sia per strada che nei backstage il un dettaglio glam.

Che sia la versione beauty dello sportswear chic?

Il Burro di Cacao spodesta il Rossetto

L’anno scorso a mancare dai beauty case dei makeup artists era il mascara, quest’anno invece è toccato al rossetto tirarsi indietro. Da Prabal Gurung, Alexander Wang, Thakoon, Adam Selman e Jason Wu il burro di cacao gli ha rubato la scena mentre in altri show questa tendenza “nature” è stata tradotta in rossetti leggeri, sempre in tono con la pelle, con l’unico scopo di migliorare le labbra senza però farle apparire.

Dite che il rossetto sta diventando nuovamente un prodotto di bellezza retrò?

Il nuovo scopo del Lipgloss

Pensate al lipgloss come il nuovo ombretto: se le passerelle hanno avuto ragione, questo sara il suo nuovo scopo per la stagione a venire. Nei backstage di Thakoon, Zac Posen, Rag & Bone, Naeem Khan, Lacoste, Cushnie et Ochs, Proenza Schouler, Martin Margiela e Micheal Kors i makeup artists hanno dato alle palpebre un finish bagnato, a volte addirittura vitreo, usando gloss trasparenti o shimmery.

Preparatevi a essere appiccicose e a dire addio al mascara (neanche quelli waterproof di ultima generazione sopravviverebbero al gloss)!

Sopracciglia Ribelli

Le sopracciglia sono state protagoniste indiscusse da Rodarte e Badgley Mischka. Tom Pecheux per Mac Cosmetics e Jamas Kaliardos per Nars hanno rispettivamente voluto aggiungere un elemento ludico, il primo sotto forma di una pennellata di colore, mentre il secondo con dei piercing lungo tutta la lunghezza delle sopracciglia.

Il risultato? Ragazze giovani e cool ma ribelli!

La perfetta manicure nude

Ce lo saremmo dovuti aspettare, lo smalto nude è la nuova nail art. Prendendo spunto dalle tendenze di questo inverno, la manicure neutra ha avuto un grande ritorno da BCBG Max Azria, J. Mendel, Derek Lam, DKNY, Herve Leger, Public School e Victoria Beckham. Perché semplice è meglio (anche per quanto riguarda la “manutenzione”).

L’unico abbaglio

L’unico tocco di colore evidente è stato visto da Peter Som dove Yadim per Maybelline ha creato un semplice look dal vibe sportivo caratterizzato da una pennellata di arancio shock sotto l’occhio. Non diventerà di certo un trend ma meritava di essere menzionato.

Tutte in coda

È tornata la coda, in tutto il suo banale splendore, a confermare la tendenza sporty-chic che si sta profilando all’orizzonte. Vista da Opening Ceremony, Alexander Wang, Prabal Gurung, Pubblic School e Wes Gordon, la ponytail ha rubato la scena durante i primi giorni della NYFW mentre, nei giorni seguenti è andata pian piano a scomparire. Il motivo? La noia, quella degli hairstylist, che hanno optato poi per messe in piega “non-finite” e chignon reinventati.

Knots di carattere

Come accennato sopra, dopo aver visto code su code, gli hairstylist hanno cambiato direzione cercando qualcosa di più edgy. Lo chignon ha fatto al caso loro nelle versioni reinventate di Marc by Marc Jacobs, dove Guido Palau per Redken ha davo vita a dei Mohawks-knots ispirati a Bjork, di Rag & Bone dove Paul Hanlon per Bumble & Bumble ha rivisto la ponytail, creando un nodo allentato alla base dei capelli, e di 3.1 Philip Lim, dove lo stesso Hanlon ha creato la versione più cool e punk del classico chignon, dandogli un tocco elettrico.

L’hairstyle non finito

Sembra proprio che nei backstage gli hairstylist abbiano fatto del loro meglio per mascherare il loro duro lavoro. Le passerelle della PE 2015 hanno messo in mostra tanti look effortless fatti di onde easy, capelli pettinati con le dita e textures opache. A dar vita a questa tendenza sono stati Derek Lam, Altuzarra, Prabal Gurung, Rebecca Minkoff, Rodarte e Victoria Beckham. Non varrà più la pena di andare dal parrucchiere, dunque.

Humidity Won

Whether we blame it on the weather (it was 90-plus degrees outside) or it is just the last sport-chic vibe, be prepared, next spring will all be about dewy skin. Sweat has been a beauty inspiration at five shows and, channeling the humidity outside (and inside), Alexander Wang, Peter Som, DKNY, Prabal Gurung, Oscar De La Renta and Creatures of the Wind all opted for a sweaty look.

Think about it like the beauty version of sportswear chic.

Lipbalm but no Lipstick

Last time it was the mascara now, for next Spring, it is lipstick that is conspicuously missing. Backstage at Prabal Gurung, Alexander Wang, Thakoon, Adam Selman and Jason Wu lip balm took center stage while in some other shows models wore the lightest of lipsticks or glosses to create a better lips without making a stand out.

Is lipstick going to be retro once again?

The new purpose of the lipgloss

Think about lipgloss like the new eyeshadow: if catwalks were right it will be its new purpose. Makeup artist backstage at Thakoon, Zac Posen, Proenza Schouler, Rag & Bone, Naeem Khan, Lacoste, Sophie Theallet, Cushnie et Ochs, Maison Martin Margiela and Micheal Kors gave eyelids a dewy, sometimes even glassy, finish using shimmery and clear lipglosses as main tools.

Get ready to be sticky and to say bye, bye to the mascara!

Rebellious Brows

Brows got a total makeover at Rodarte and Badgley Mischka where, respectively Tom Pecheux for Mac Cosmetics and Jamas Kaliardos for Nars added an element of play: the first in the form of a wash of colorful eyeshadow and the second with a multi-pierced brow for a polished but cool look. The intention of both the makeup artists was to represent cool, young and rebellious girls and they nailed it!

The perfect nude nails

We should have seen it coming: nude nails are the new nail art. Finding its roots in this Fall trends, nude nails are making a huge come back at BCBG Max Azria, J. Mendel, Derek Lam, DKNY, Hervé Léger, Public School and Victoria Beckham. Because clean is better (and less maintenance is involved, which is always good).

The single flash of colour

The only bright flash of colour was seen at Peter Som, where Yadim for Maybelline created simple, sporty look with a bit of a twist adding a pop of orange to the eyes and keeping the skin dewy and fresh. It won’t be a trend but it deserved to be mentioned.

Ponytails

Ponytails made a huge comeback on the catwalks marking the sporty-chic vibe as a trend to come. Seen at Opening Ceremony, Alexander Wang, Prabal Gurung, Pubblic School, Honor and Wes Gordon ponytails took center stage at the first days of NYFW. The days next? Hairstylist were so bored form seeing ponys that totally changed direction opting for undone blowouts and reinvented knots.

Power Knots

After seeing loads of ponytails hairstylist changed directions and opted for knots. Not the classical ballerina bun but something edgier like the ones seen at Marc by Marc Jacobs, where Guido Palau for Redken created Bjork-inspired Mohawks-knots, at Rag & Bone where Paul Hanlon for Bumble and Bumble did something looser, reinventing the ponytail and securing it by tying a loose knot at the bottom, and at 3.1 Philip Lim where the same Hanlon created the cooler and punky version of the ballerina bun.

The undone blowout

It seems like backstage hairstylist did their best to mask their hard work. Showing plenty of effortless hairstyles - which stood between textured hair and easy waves, sometimes messy, others sporty - the SS2015 catwalks were all about that type of look that if you were paying for it, you would ask for your money back.
