Miller Harris porta l’arte profumiera a un nuovo livello, sempre più aulico e culturale, sfidando due famigerati nasi all’interpretazione su scala olfattiva di un passaggio del romanzo di F. Scott Fitzgerald “Tender is the Night”. Il risultato? Due fragranze uniche e opposte - Tender e Scherzo - che esplorano il cambiamento e il contrasto di questo capolavoro della letteratura.

La composizione olfattiva di Tender di Miller Harris

L’apertura è frizzante, molto verde e tagliente e decisamente luminosa grazie al Co2 al Pepe Rosa, alle Aldeidi, alla nota di Giacinto verde e alla Cannella che accompagna l’evoluzione verso un cuore più scuro e profondo caratterizzato dal Tulipano Nero (un connubio fra la forza dell’inchiostro e l’apparente fragilità del tulipano) dall’Assoluta di Rosa Turca, dall’Olio di Incenso e dallo Zafferano dorato. Sul fondo, Tender si chiude mostrando il suo lato più morbido e, grazie alle note legnose, smussa gli angoli taglienti e verdi dell’apertura. Il legno di Cedro accennato, il Sandalo, la frazione di Patchouli, l’Ambra, l’assoluta di Mirra, l’Incenso, lo Storax e il Muschio conferiscono una persistenza unica a questa fragranza eccezionale.

Miller Harris takes perfume to a new level, that of literature, challenging two notorious noses in the olfactory interpretation of a passage from F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel "Tender is the Night". The result? Two unique and opposite fragrances - Tender and Scherzo - that explore the changes and contrasts of this masterpiece of literature.

"…She walked on, between kaleidoscopic peonies massed in pink clouds, black and brown tulips and fragile mauve stemmed roses, transparent like sugar flowers in a confectioner’s window – until, as if the scherzo of colour could reach no further intensity, it broke off suddenly in mid-air. "

Tender and Scherzo: one brief, two opposite compositions

This was the passage that briefed the master perfumers Mathieu Nardi and Bertrand Duchaufour on the creation of their compositions, and the results were so differently beautiful: if Scherzo puts in the spotlight the "pink clouds" and the "sugar flowers in a confectioner's window", Tender is more a convergence between light and darkness, ending up in baing a creation that despite its complexity develops fluidly, showing moment after moment all its different facets.

Sparkling, sharp, dark and green. Tender is a chameleonic fragrance that changes depending on how you look at it. Yet, despite these multi layers, Tender is linear and showcases all its aspects right away, going to deepen them one by one with the passage of time.

The olfactory composition of Tender by Miller Harris

The opening is sparkling, very green and sharp thanks to Pink Pepper Co2, Aldehydes, the note of green Hyacinth and cinnamon that accompanies the evolution towards a darker and deeper heart characterized by Black Tulip (a combination between the strength of ink and the apparent fragility of the tulip), by the Turkish Rose Absolute, by the Incense Oil and the golden Saffron. On the bottom, Tender closes showing its softer side and, thanks to the woody notes, smoothes the sharp and green corners of the opening. The Cedarwood, the Sandalwood, the fraction of Patchouli, the Amber, the absolute of Mirra, the Frankincense , the Storax and the Musk give a unique persistence to this exceptional fragrance.
