Dior Skyline: the make-up collection that shows your character
Lo skyline parigino è dominato dalla Tour Eiffel e il look autunnale pensato da Peter Philips per Dior (Skyline, appunto) si ispira proprio ad essa, alla sua presenza tanto leggera quanto virtuosa, al suo essere graficamente vertiginosa e, pertanto, il makeup della Maison gioca con le luci e le ombre, con i tratti, con i volumi, andando a definire quasi architettonicamente una donna che, senza sforzo, attira su di sé tutti gli sguardi.
I colori sono quelli dell’autunno parigino - beige glacé, marroni purpurei, rosa ramati, champagne. Le texture sono lucenti, talvolta metallizzate. I prodotti i più disparati. Dall’immancabile Palette 5 Couleurs in limited edition che nel design traspone la struttura della Tour Eiffel e nei cromatismi le sfumature di un cielo autunnale in divenire, allo smalto brown Skyline che detterà tendenza per tutta la stagione, fino a nuove nuance di rossetti e lipgloss.
Ma l’accento vero della collezione sta nella sua indole architettonica e quindi, in quei nuovi prodotti che, con estrema facilità, permettono di ridefinire i tratti e i contorni del viso: Diorshow Brow Chalk, per mettere in evidenza con una sola passata le sopracciglia dando più carattere allo sguardo; Diorblush Light & Contour per scolpire i volumi giocando con i contrasti di luce e ombra (mai sentito parlare di strobing e contouring?) con un solo prodotto; Diorshow Nude Air Luminizer per illuminare ancora di più l’incarnato con un soffio di polvere estremamente glowy.
Last but not least, Skyline introduce due nuovi correttori alla gamma Backstage Secrets, il Flash Luminizer che agisce sulle zone d’ombra per cancellare i segni della stanchezza ma anche per scolpire e illuminare e i Fix-it Colour, quattro filtri cromatici che correggono le imperfezioni e ravvivano il colorito spento. Questi ultimi sono una vera e propria rivoluzione, sono morbidi da applicare, si sfumano con una facilità estrema e lavorano sulla teoria del colore per la quale per annullare una nuance bisogna sovrapporle la sua complementare.
Ecco quindi come usarli a seconda del bisogno: l’albicocca si usa (su pelli spente o abbronzate) per attenuare macchie scure, iper pigmentazioni e occhiaie tendenti a un colorito olivastro; il giallo corregge invece i piccoli rossori e i dark circles violacei delle pelli più chiare ma neutralizza anche il colore delle labbra per mettere in risalto i rossetti; il blu ha un’azione anti-grigiore e conferisce una luminosità intrinseca agli incarnati spenti, si può applicare nelle zone di luce per un extra glow o nelle zone d’ombra per mitigare la stanchezza; il verde, infine, cancella le imperfezioni più rosse, dai brufoletti ai capillari visibili ma anche couperose o arrossamenti vari.

It is the Tour Eiffel that dominates the Parisian skyline and are its daring structure and bold lines that have inspired Peter Philips in the creation of Skyline, Dior’s Autumn make-up look, a collection that takes the light yet virtuous presence and the dizzying graphic design of this iconic architecture into eyeshadows, blushes, lipsticks and brow pencils with the only aim of playing with lights and shadows and with facial contours defining (almost architecturally) a woman who effortlessly stands by herself.
The colors are those of a Parisian autumn - beige glacé, brown purple, pink auburn and champagne. The textures are luminous, sometimes metallic. The products, so disparate. The limited edition 5 Couleurs Palette transposes the design of the Eiffel Tower structure and the chromatic shades of an autumn sky; the Skyline brown nail polish will dictate a trend throughout the season; Dior Addict lipstick and lipgloss are declined in new it-shades among which the ones of Sophisticated and Scandalous are going to make you fall in love.
But the real focus of the collection lies in its architectural character and therefore, in those new products that easily allow you to redefine the lines and contours of the face: Diorshow Brow Chalk naturally enhances and defines eyebrows with just one stroke delivering more character to the eyes; Diorblush Light & Contour sculpts facial volumes by playing with light and shade (ever heard of strobing and contouring?) and it’s all in a single tool; Diorshow Nude Air Luminizer is the last touch of light that bathes the face in a veil of impalpable powder.
Last but not least, Skyline introduces two new concealers to the Backstage Secrets range: the Flash Luminizer, a radiance booster that illuminates shadowy areas to lessens signs of fatigue and revives eyes and lips contours, and the Fix-it Colour, four color filters that target and neutralize imperfections and bring light to dull complexions. The latter are a real revolution, are soft to be applied, perfectly blend into the skin and work on the theory of color for which to cancel a shade you must overlap its complement.
Here is how to use them as needed: apricot is used to even out matte or tanned skins toning down grayness and diminishing dark spots and dark circles that tend towards an olive hue; the yellow corrects dark spot and dark circles on light skins erasing violet-tinted shadows, but it works brilliantly on lips to bring out the real color of the lipstick; blue has an anti-dullness action evening out tired complexions for an extra glow, dab it on light-catching areas (forehead and tips of the cheeks) to instantly refresh; green is the anti-redness ally and is used to conceal the most red pimples, blood vessels and flushed areas.
